A 1-carat G, VS1 lab-grown diamond in Canada runs CA$800-CA$2,200. The same grade mined stone? CA$6,000-CA$9,000 or more from a national chain. That's not a compromise - that's a smarter allocation of the same budget.
Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds. Same crystal structure. Same Mohs hardness of 10. Same 4Cs grading. IGI grades them with the same rigour it applies to mined stones. The only difference is origin.
In 2015, I became the first Canadian jeweller to commit exclusively to lab-grown diamonds. The market's caught up since then. I was just earlier than most.

I build a photorealistic 3D render. You see exactly what the ring looks like before I source a single stone. We revise until you're satisfied.
Stone Sourcing with IGI Report
I source the stone to your approved specs. You receive the IGI grading report with the inscribed report number before any payment is made.
Crafting and FedEx Delivery
10-15 business days to cast and set. FedEx Priority, insured with signature. Total: 4-6 weeks from design approval.

About Suman Smith
I've been working in the jewellery industry for over 20 years. I started Lux Jewels in 2007 as a custom design studio focused on quality over volume. The operation was intentionally small: I wanted to know every ring I was building and every person I was building it for.
In 2015 I made a shift that most Canadian jewellers weren't ready to make. I committed fully to lab-grown diamonds as the primary stone offering. The technology had reached the point where the stones were genuinely indistinguishable from mined, the grading infrastructure was credible, and the price differential was too significant to ignore on behalf of my customers.
I work exclusively online. My customers are in Ontario, BC, Quebec, Alberta, the Maritimes, and across the US. I don't need a showroom to do this well. I need the right conversation, the right design process, and the right stone at a price that doesn't make you wince every time you look at your hand. That's the whole point of Lux Jewels.

Yes. Lab-grown diamonds have the same chemical composition, the same Mohs hardness of 10, and the same optical properties as mined diamonds. The only difference is origin. IGI grades them using the same 4Cs system as natural stones.
A lab-grown diamond solitaire in Canada typically runs CA$800-CA$2,200 for the stone at 1 carat, plus setting and design costs. Natural diamonds of equivalent size run CA$6,000-CA$9,000 or more. Yes. A moissanite stone in a 0.75-1ct equivalent size with a standard 14K solitaire setting is achievable in this budget. Lab-grown diamonds at 0.5ct are also possible. A free consultation will map exactly what's achievable at your number.
Lab-grown diamonds are diamonds. Moissanite is silicon carbide, a completely different material with a higher refractive index (more rainbow fire), slightly lower hardness at 9.25 vs 10, and a significantly lower price point. Both are durable enough for everyday wear on an engagement ring.
